Swift class has a mixture of KS1 and KS2 pupils. We are a friendly and lively class, with ten pupils, who work alongside one teacher and three/four co-educators. We work as a team, help each other and like to be kind and helpful to others. This year, our curriculum topics are Families and Growing; Australia; Traditional Tales and Fables; Safari Animals; Being a Gardener and; How Things Change. We have English, Maths and Phonics lessons every week, as well as a variety of learning activities to enrich the curriculum such as fine motor skills; circle games and turn-taking games. We also have weekly PE and swimming lessons. Swift Class follow the whole school approach of Zones of Regulation, which creates a systematic approach to teach regulation by categorizing all the different ways we feel and states of alertness we experience into four concrete coloured zones. Pupils also take part in ‘Attention Autism’ lessons to increase and develop attention, focus and independence.

This half-term, we have produced some fantastic self-portraits in art, which we look forward to sharing in the Gallery section of the website!
