Fledglings class were delighted to meet with Abigail from Norfolk Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group at the end of February. A number of classes from across the school have been joining in with their Conservation in Schools Programme – a six-week series of lessons fully supported with resources and plans all aimed at supporting students to reconnect with nature through their school grounds.

As a part of the programme participating schools receive: wildflower seeds (which we will be using to enhance our “no mow” zones around the school site); hand tools (which are going into our polytunnel and raised bed area tool shed): and some very cool bird boxes made from Silver Birch sections of trunk (these are up and awaiting their first tenants in the Forest School area).

A huge thank you to Abigail (who has the best job title ever “Assistant Pond Officer”) and the rest of the team. We have really enjoyed the lessons and learnt such a lot whilst improving our grounds.
