At John Grant School we recognise that our students benefit hugely from getting out in the community and seeing how other settings work with rules and responsibilities of their designated job role. With this in mind we are very fortunate to have positive links with Haven in Caister.
During the summer term pupils will have the opportunity to shadow staff from Haven and carry out roles in their chosen areas. The areas that Haven cover are gardening/ site maintenance, shop work, sporting activities, exploring/nature walks and working in their Mash and Barrell restaurant.
All of our students who have carried out these experiences have had really positive feedback from Haven staff and guests and as a school we are so incredibly proud of each and every student who has taken part.
Moving on from JGS
We had 34 leavers between 2021 – 2025 and all went onto suitable placements. During their time here the pupils had opportunities to visit post school providers, and received tailored transitions in to their new settings.
