Sport at John Grant School

John Grant School is fully committed to PE and Sport and we work hard to ensure that all pupils in school receive a wide variety of sport experiences, including weekly PE and swimming lessons.

We offer fully inclusive sports, including boccia, curling, yoga, gymnastics, football and many more, so pupils are given a wide range of experiences and to ensure their diverse needs are met.  Hydrotherapy sessions are delivered in our on-site hydrotherapy pool, weekly swimming lessons in our on-site swimming pool, horse riding lessons offsite for primary pupils and rebound therapy and physiotherapy sessions for a small selection of pupils.

The school actively participates in a range of sporting events locally and regionally against other special education schools. These include competitions in football, boccia, cricket, basketball, athletics, ASD gymnastics and various multi sports events.

Lunchtime clubs run from 12-12.45pm for Secondary and FE pupils and 12.45-1.30pm for Primary Pupils. These include; fitness club, boccia club, football club, multi sports club, table cricket and music club. We aim to change the sports on offer each term, to offer pupils new experiences.

As a sports team we have organised fundraising events for Sports Relief, where all pupils have taken part in beat the teacher events and swimming galas against other classes. We hope to continue this each year.
