As part of their work on caring for our environment pupils in Bittern Class at the John Grant School decided to hold a fundraiser for the “Foxy Lodge Wildlife Rescue Centre”. The pupils devised a variety of games, sold cakes and gifts, in addition to advertising the event and requesting donations of cat food and blankets.
The mini-fete was well attended by the rest of the school a grand total of £234.74 was raised for “Foxy Lodge”.
On the 29th January a John Grant team travelled to the UEA to take part in the Special School Indoor Cricket competition. Fresh from recent training at School from a Norfolk Cricket Board coach our team were raring to go and feeling confident. All eight John Grant pupils played superbly and worked together really well as a team. We won all three of our games to finish as winners and bring the trophy back to Caister!
Family Voice Norfolk are running a Free conference for parents and carers of children (0 – 25 years) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities on Saturday 5th March 2016.

The friends were delighted to be presented with a cheque for £1,150 and our thanks go to all involved in the bowls tournament.
Pupils in Bittern class have been thinking about “why people suffer” in their Religious Education” lessons this term. As part of this they decided to have a fundraiser to help others. After a class vote the East Anglian Air Ambulance was chosen as the charity they wanted to support.
Pupils and staff worked hard advertising their Jumble and Cake sale, making cakes and sorting donations. They raised a grand total of £85.00.

On 22nd April 2015 a team of 6 pupils travelled to Newmarket for the regional heat of the National Table Cricket Competition. The team was a mix of youth and experience with two key stage 2 pupils for whom it was a new experience and with four pupils from key stage 4 and FE who helped the younger pupils with rules and how to play the game. The team worked together and performed well in their games making some respectable scores. Captain for the day Max lead his team admirably with encouragement and guidance for the younger members. The team finished in 7th position overall with everyone thoroughly enjoying the day and an experience John Grant School can build on for the future.
