Eco Schools
Key Stage 3 has commenced with work on helping the school to take care of our environment and save on the resources we use in school. This work will hopefully go towards the school earning an Eco award. These are some of the things we have managed to do so far...
Recently our school has been provided with a “worm hotel” , which is the responsibility of the whole school in feeding on a weekly basis. This will cut down on the fruit rubbish we throw away! The healthy compost juice will be used on our vegetable garden.
The production of small posters for all light switches, that were placed all around the school to remind people to turn them off when leaving the room – to save electricity.
Each pupil produced a fabric bag to take home and use – to cut down on the use of carrier bags.
These have been a great success used by all the pupils at home.
